HOW WE WORK
AND WIN TOGETHER

Think of the wind turbine as a ship and SKYMAST wind techs as the crew that keeps it sailing safely. Our crew members form a strong bond. We train together, watch out for each other's safety and well-being, and mentor the next techs coming up in the trade. We keep the project on course and celebrate the successful mission together. It's tough, but rewarding, work. We need each other. And the customer sees the benefit of having the most thoroughly trained, responsible techs on every job.

YOUR ENTRY LEVEL DEPENDS ON YOUR EXPERIENCE

NEW WIND TECHS

A wind turbine may have more than 6,000 bolts connecting its parts. These large bolts are continuously under enormous stress and must be tested and maintained. As an entry-level wind technician, your job is to see that each bolt is properly tensioned (tightened) at the base and often all the way up the tower. This requires you to become a safety expert, to work in close quarters, and to climb ladders to heights well over two hundred feet, carrying an equipment pack of around 45 pounds in varying extremes of temperature for a typical 10-hour shift. The turbines are often in remote locations, and the job requires travel and living away from home for extended periods. If it sounds demanding, you've got the picture. You and your crew support and form a tight bond with one another.

EXPERIENCED WIND TECHS
